Research Information Technology: Harvard Medical School

The Research Information Technology Group (RITG) augments local and departmental systems administration groups at Harvard Medical School, providing systems architecture services for research computing. RITG also provides local departmental support for research computing in the Department of Systems Biology.

RITG is a component of the HMS Information Technology (IT) department and provides services for research computing which complement IT's desktop support, network infrastructure, and other services.

RITG services include:
- Orchestra, the shared research cluster provides a flexible, collaborative, high performance computing environment at HMS available to all HMS affiliates and other authorized research collaborators. If you are interested in using the cluster, feel free to request an Orchestra cluster account.
- A variety of research software applications licensed for use on the cluster and/or the HMS network
- General research computing and Linux support.
- Introductory and advanced classes in UNIX, Linux, and use of the cluster.
- A Secure File Transfer service for the on-Quad HMS commnuity.
Research Computing Consultants have life science degrees, and can meet with you one-on-one to help you figure out how to use computers effectively in your research, or to help you get access to the resources you need.
