Support Organizations
Harvard Medical School has several organizations who work together
to make computing work.
Research Information Technology Group
- Is part of the Information Technology department and supports server-based and specialized computing for the Department of Systems Biology
- assists the entire HMS community with shared infrastructure, information technology
strategy, implementation, and support
West Quad Computing Group
- supports server-based and specialized computing on the West Quad
- assists the West Quad community with information technology
strategy, implementation, and support
Genetics and Pathology Computer Facility
- supports server-based and specialized computing in the Department of Genetics and the Department of Pathology
- assists the Genetics Department with information technology
strategy, implementation, and support
Microbiology Computer Support
- supports server-based and specialized computing in the Department of Microbiology
- assists the Microbiology Department with information technology
strategy, implementation, and support
Information
Technology
- broadly supports computing needs throughout the medical
school
- contains several specialized groups (some of which are listed
below)
Information Technology Client Services Group
- supports a specific set of hardware and software for day-to-day
computing needs
- works closely with RITG when work falls beyond their official
support scope
Information Technology Network Operations Group
- designs, maintains, monitors, and upgrades HMS network
infrastructure
- works closely with RITG and IT/CSG to provide network connectivity
for the devices they support
